Takemusu Aiki and beyond: Understanding traditional Japanese martial art concepts

In celebration of 30 years of continuous training at the North Sydney Dojo, the Takemusu Aiki Association invites members and friends to the first in
a series of bi-annual Gasshuku.
It is now 30 years since the first Aikidoka stepped onto the mats at North Sydney. Under the guidance of Saburo Takayasu Shihan, the Dojo has played a key role in the Budo journey of the association’s students and teachers. Many of the association’s current Dojo-Cho had their first teaching experiences here. North Sydney Dojo is the original physical and spiritual home of Takemusu Aiki in Sydney. In acknowledgement of this happy occasion, a Gasshuku will be held over the Labour Day long weekend. Classes reinforcing the root principles of aikido will be conducted in Taijutsu, Aiki Buki Waza and Buki Dori by Takayasu Shihan and the association’s Dojo-Cho. Takayasu Shihan is the only Japanese Shihan outside Japan appointed by the late Saito Sensei, who served O-Sensei in Iwama for 23 years during the final development of the art of aikido.

$120 for the entire seminar – $100 if you register by 21 September 2009
